Vishnu Raj P has been serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Malayalam at Sacred Heart College, Thevara since 2015. He has made significant contributions as a film critic, documentary filmmaker, and literary critic. He holds a PhD for his research on the films of Adoor Gopalakrishnan and P. A. Backer. As part of the ASPIRE SCHOLARSHIP program, he completed a study on art cinema under the mentorship of film editor Bina Paul. He is also a recipient of the Kerala State Chalachitra Academy’s Film Research Fellowship.
His documentary Peache (2018)was officially selected for the Sign International Film Festival organized by the Film Federation of India, as well as the International Folk Film Festival. His documentary The Soil (2023)received the Special Jury Award at the International Documentary and Short Film Festival of Kerala (IDSFFK). It was also selected for competition at the Sign Film Festival and screened at several international film festivals.
Vishnuraj is a regular contributor to literary magazines such as Vijnanakairali, Sahithyalokam, and Sahithya Chakravalam, as well as film journals like Chalachitra Sameeksha and Drishyathalam. His research articles also appear in online platforms such as True Copy and Keraleyam. He has presented papers at various international conferences.
